Soulkeeper - "Get Well Soon" (EP)

Minneapolis' Soulkeeper are here with the perfect brew of heavy, no matter what you want to label it. Their debut EP boasts fat, beatdown-inspired breakdowns that take their time to really pummel you into the ground. Scott Gilmore's guitar possesses an almost djent-like heaviness (btw there's only one guitarist in this band), and Zachary Zaijian's vocals are rough and tough. The creative production work sprinkles in synths, nu-metal-inspired intros, and just straight up cool ass effects, especially on tracks like "Beloved." This unique blend of styles gives the band a sound that stands out from the pack, whether that pack is hardcore, deathcore, prog metal, or whatever...
