Belmont - "Between You & Me" (EP)

The Chicago pop-punk scene is a lively lake bubbling with young talent, and Belmont have managed to surface with their new release. The five track EP pushes the boundaries of pop-punk musicality, much like fellow Chicagoans Knuckle Puck have done. Between You & Me doesn't sound too far off from Knuckle Puck either, but it feels more raw and hardcore-influenced than their music (think Such Gold). Guitar slides, subtle string pinches, blast beats, and double bass staccato add a defining flare to Belmont's sound. Belmont aren't just trying to be loud and fast, they're trying to be remembered.
