Taking a line from the old book of death metal

Is it just me or does the opening riff of Suicide Silence's "No Pity For A Coward" strikingly resemble the opening riff of Exhumed's "Open The Abscess?" DEATH METAL LIVES!

Too bad Suicide Silence dumbed it down a few chords :/ Also I chose the Exhumed re-recording because you can hear the riff better.
