Minnaars

Too bad these guys are no longer :( I guess that's how it is with a lot of smaller math/punk bands. Minnaars (Leicester, UK) had a good run though, several solid releases. Definitely a pop-leaning math group with lots of twinkling guitars but also some really nice bass. It's more prominent on some songs than others but it's definitely there either way. And the singer sounds just like Kele from Bloc Party...or maybe that's just my untrained American ear that can't differentiate accents from across the pond. But listen for yourself...either way, would recommend for fans of Bloc Party, Foals, and any UK math band with a cult following.
