New and Noteworthy: Lana Del Rey: "Summertime Sadness" (Ryan Hemsworth Remix)

I feel like it would be easy to ruin the holiness of one of Lana Del Rey's delicately dark anthems, but Ryan Hemsworth does this one absolute justice. Accentuating Lana's backing vocals, the Canadian DJ crafts a spacey, trap-esque rework of the sultry singer's mournful melody. Subtle reverberating blips along with an amplification of the ghostly background whistle from the original gives the track a lighter yet eerily futuristic appeal. Topped off with some crisp 808's, it's perfect for just vibing out. Although we are only offered a preview ripped from a recent mix by Kastle, the sampling is definitely worth replaying a couple times at least.
