New and Noteworthy: SAVEMONEY X EDM

The last 24 hours have seen a peculiar sample palette of the increasingly buzzing Chicago hip-hop clique SAVE MONEY meshing with the likes of some of EDM'S hottest names.

Vic Mensa, who recently went on tour with British deep house sensation Disclosure, decided to drop some mad bars over the duo's hit "When a Fire Starts to Burn." The unexpected freestyle is bouncy and unrelenting, and the combination of the two artists yields a lot of promise for a hopeful collaboration. Note the Kaytranada reference too at 1:39; a partnership with the two would also be a perfect fit in my opinion.  Listen here: https://soundcloud.com/fuck-vic-mensa/vic-mensa-when-a-fire-starts

And what ever happened to Skrillex? While dubstep seems to have had its heyday several years ago, the golden boy of bass is back in the studio, this time producing for Chance the Rapper. The track, which Skrillex previewed at a recent show, has a drum & bass feel that is undeniably groovy, while Chance's raspy vocals emanate smooth R&B swagger.
